A look under the hood of the Straight Circle process.

Our process:

Ideas and good design doesn't just pop into your head (well sometimes it does, but rarely!). It takes a process, not a rigid framework, but a way of doing things that allows ideas to flow freely and naturally. Take a look at how we work.

Good old fashioned research

We start every project with research. And it's the foundation that everything else we do is built upon. We begin with learning where your business is in the present, where it stands now. We look at your competitors, what are they doing, how are they doing. We research about what people are saying about your business. Basically, we learn as much as we can, and immerse ourselves in your world. To create design that is fantastic and at the same time perfectly tailored for your business, we need to know your business inside and out.

Pen + paper

It's obvious that most of our work is completed digitally. But a pen and a piece of paper is what we reach for first when it's time to brainstorm. Nothing is quicker than a pen and paper at getting ideas out into the physical world. Moleskines, Post-it notes, sketchbooks, grid paper, you name it and we use it.

Implementation and Iteration

Once a clear purpose starts to form, it comes to implementation. This is where we bridge our ideas into the digital realm. We've got the ideas on paper, let's see how they look with a little refinement. Using our tools we start building your project. We prefer to begin the implementation as quickly as possible, this allows us to expedite the entire process, and get an look at an almost ready project sooner in the timeline.

Right on top of this, we stack iteration. The two are a powerful combination. Working on a project from an iterative standpoint allows us a much faster turn around time while refining the product down to it's final 100%. Iteration allows us to get a working prototype in front of you for evaluation early in the process.

Client involvement

Client participation and involvement in the design process is invaluable, and it's a part of how we work at Straight Circle. We like to maintain an open discussion with our clients when we're working on a project. In a very real sense you become part of our team. You'll always be talking to the designer working on your project directly, via email, skype, or phone calls.

We'll always ask for your opinion and insight, but that also means that we'll give our freely as well. We may disagree with you, or bring up a contrasting opinion, but it's always from a design standpoint.
